Fee Measures
|
|
Compulsory campus-based fees may be established, eliminated, or modified in an election in which a majority (50% + 1) of a minimum voting pool of twenty-five percent (25%) of the overall* affected student body (according to official third week enrollment figures) votes to approve or to modify the fee. The imposition of a compulsory fee passed by referendum is subject to concurrence of the Chancellor and approval of the President.

MEASURE 14: Campus Sustainability Programs Fee Increase

MEASURE 14 QUESTION Shall the undergraduates of UCSC increase the existing Campus Sustainability Programs Fee (Measure 9) from $3.00 per student, per quarter to $6.00 per student, per quarter to provide the Student Union Assembly (SUA)/Campus Sustainability Council additional funding for new and evolving UCSC student organizations that facilitate collaboration between students, the administration, faculty, and the community to create, implement and monitor sustainability practices on campus, via the Blueprint for a Sustainable Campus? Note: If Measure 14 passes, it will supercede all language, conditions and distribution of funds from the previous Campus Sustainability Programs Fee (Measure 9) passed by students in Spring 2003. MEASURE 14G QUESTION Shall the graduate students of UCSC match the existing undergraduate Campus Sustainability Programs Fee (Measure 9) of $3.00 per student, per quarter and if Measure 14 (which supercedes Measure 9) is approved by undergraduates during the Spring 2005 election, match the new $6.00 per student, per quarter to provide the Student Union Assembly (SUA)/Campus Sustainability Council additional funding to support new and evolving UCSC student organizations that facilitate collaboration between students, the administration, faculty, and the community to create, implement and monitor sustainability practices on campus, via the Blueprint for a Sustainable Campus? Student Union Assembly Constitutional Amendments

According to the existing Student Union Assembly constitution, amendment of the constitution requires approval by a simple majority in an election in which at least 20% of the undergraduate students at UCSC participate.
